Nick Sirianni’s seat in Philadelphia is getting warmer with each subsequent game.

The Eagles, a Super Bowl winner with Sirianni as head coach, began the 2026 season 2-0. Now, the team sits at 2-3 after blowing two leads late in games.

In Week 5, Sirianni placed blame on himself for a 19-17 defeat against Jacksonville. In Week 6, the Eagles return home to face a Panthers team coming off its bye week.

Would continued failures lead to Sirianni’s exit? Here’s a look at two head coaching candidates for the Eagles.

NFL Hot Seat: 2 Potential Replacements for Nick Sirianni

Drew Petzing, Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator

How much Petzing currently contributes to Detroit’s offensive prowess is somewhat unknown. After all, head coach Dan Campbell plays an active role in the offensive game plan.

Detroit’s offensive efficiency is not undisputed. Entering their Week 6 bye, the Lions rank ninth in offensive DVOA, including second in rush offense DVOA.

Petzing previously established strong metrics coordinating rushing attacks.

Over three years as Cardinals offensive coordinator, his ground game ranked 16th or better in yards per attempt.

That sample includes two second-place rankings in 2023 and 2024. With Petzing, the Eagles could revamp the offensive line and give the keys to a coach who could bolster Saquon Barkley.

Declan Doyle, Baltimore Ravens Offensive Coordinator

Whether the Eagles would elect to hire someone as young as Doyle is the biggest question. Currently, Doyle ranks amongst the youngest coordinators with only two years spent as OC.

Still, the early returns are undeniably good. Doyle helped coordinate a strong Bears offense in 2025 alongside Ben Johnson. In 2025, he helped establish the Ravens as a good unit.

Through five games, Baltimore ranks third in offensive DVOA. Individual units sit second in pass offense DVOA and fifth in rush offense DVOA.

In many ways, the Eagles and Ravens offer comparable units. Neither features an elite receiver, but both have previously dominated teams on the ground.

Two years ago, Doyle coordinated a Bears offense that finished third in rush offense DVOA. It could lead to improved offensive results in Philadelphia.
