  • Heading into Week 18, the Seahawks are 8-8.
  • Seattle currently is fighting for a wild card spot.
  • The Seahawks playoff hopes will come down to the final week of the regular season.

No one knew what to expect when the Seahawks traded away Russell Wilson last offseason and decided to go with Geno Smith as their starting quarterback out of training camp.

The Seahawks were able to avoid missing the playoffs for the second straight year, thanks to the strong play of Geno Smith and others.

Seahawks Playoff Seed

The Seahawks finished with a 9-8 record and were the last team to qualify for the NFC playoffs.

They beat the Rams in Week 18 and then got help with the Lions beating the Packers on Sunday Night Football.

Seahawks NFC West

The 49ers won the NFC West. Seattle will play San Francisco on Wild Card Weekend.

The top seven teams made the playoffs, with the four division winners earning the top four seeds.

The Seahawks were able to earn the final spot following their Week 18 win over the Rams, and the Packers falling to the Lions on Sunday Night Football.

The NFC East proved to be the best division in the conference, as three of the four teams made the playoffs.
