  • Heading into Week 12, the Seahawks are 6-4.
  • Seattle currently is in second place in the NFC West.
  • The Seahawks would be the No. 7 seed in the NFC if the playoffs began today.

No one knew what to expect when the Seahawks traded away Russell Wilson last offseason and decided to go with Geno Smith as their starting quarterback out of training camp.

Things could not be going any better, as Seattle has been one of the biggest surprises in the league and a good team when it comes to NFL betting.

The Seahawks will look to avoid missing the playoffs for the straight year, as they haven’t missed the postseason in consecutive seasons since 2009.

Here’s the Seahawks’ current playoff picture.

Seahawks Playoff Seed

The Seahawks slid in the standings this week, despite being their bye. The 49ers are now the division leaders, even though the two teams have identical 6-4 records. The 49ers own the tiebreaker, which means Seattle is now the No. 7 seed.

Seahawks NFC West

The 49ers currently lead the NFC West, but since the Seahawks have the same record, anything can happen over the remainder of the season.

2Vikings8-2
349ers6-4
4Buccaneers5-5
5Cowboys7-3
6Giants7-3
7Seahawks6-4

The top seven teams make the playoffs, with the four division winners earning the top four seeds.

Currently, three teams in the NFC East would be in the postseason, the most of any division. This is the most competitive division in the conference.

If the playoffs began today, the teams just missing out on the playoffs would be the Commanders (6-5) and the Falcons (5-6).
