  • Hideki Matsuyama was the winner.

The excitement from the PGA Tour’s West Coast swing continued at the Genesis Invitational from Riviera Country Club, just outside of Los Angeles, Feb. 15-18.

It was a PGA Tour signature event, which meant the best players on the PGA Tour were in the field, including tournament host Tiger Woods. Unfortunately, Woods withdrew during the second round due to illness.

The field was reduced to the top 50 players (and ties) and any player within 10 shots of the lead following the second round.

In a very exciting final day, Hideki Matsuyama shot a 62 (-9) to win by three shots. He finished at 17-under, three better than Luke List and Will Zalatoris.

The tournament had a $20 million purse.
