  • The UFC lightweight title rematch between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski headlines the UFC 294 pay-per-view event this weekend.
  • Makhachev is the betting favorite at -250, while Volkanovski is the betting underdog at +190.
  • Other UFC stars seeing action on the card are Kamaru Usman, Khamzat Chimaev, Johnny Walker, and Magomed Ankalaev.

One of the most highly anticipated UFC title rematches in recent history goes down this Saturday, Oct. 21, at UFC 294 as UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defends his title for the second time against Alexander Volkanovski in the main event of the card inside the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates.

Makhachev was initially scheduled to fight former champion Charles Oliveira, but Oliveira suffered a nasty injury two weeks before the fight that forced him out of the main event. Volkanovski gladly accepted the call from the Las Vegas-based promotion to face Makhachev on days’ notice. The reigning UFC featherweight champion will try to defy the UFC odds as he comes in as the considerable betting underdog at +190.

Meanwhile, the Dagestani champion is the betting favorite at -250, as he already holds a victory over Volkanovski from their first meeting in February 2023 with a unanimous decision result. Apart from the headliner, two other incredible fights were included in the card. Undefeated MMA star Khamzat Chimaev will welcome former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the middleweight division.

Like Volkanovski, “The Nigerian Nightmare” was also a late replacement opponent for Chimaev after Paulo Costa withdrew from the fight as he was still recovering from elbow surgery. It will be Chimaev’s third bout in the 185-pound division after previously beating John Phillips and Gerald Meerschaert. The winner of this co-main event fight will likely challenge reigning UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland next.

The light heavyweight division will also have a pivotal match as No. 2-ranked contender Magomed Ankalaev faces the No. 7-ranked divisional challenger Johnny Walker to push their chances of getting a title shot. See the complete odds of all fighters that will be seeing action in the card below.
