The featherweight match between ranked contenders Arnold Allen and Jean Silva will be the first fight of the UFC 324 main card on Jan. 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Due to his long layoff, Allen is going to be the betting underdog with +225 UFC odds. Silva, on the other hand, will be the betting favorite with -300 odds despite coming off a loss in his previous bout.

UFC 324: Arnold Allen vs. Jean Silva: Prediction

My prediction is a unanimous decision victory for Silva over Allen because he’s more powerful and explosive. He’s also a very calculated and precise striker, who likes to welcome his opponents forward so that he can counter them.

Additionally, Silva has been more active than Allen, who’s coming off a rehab from his shoulder injury. Allen’s long layoff could be a significant factor that throws him off on fight night, especially since he’s competing on a massive card.

Although Silva’s power and precise striking can stop most of the contenders in the featherweight division, I believe that Allen’s toughness and disciplined approach can withstand the onslaught to see the full three rounds of the match.

Arnold Allen’s Recent Fight Results

Allen has been a solid contender in the 145-pound weight class since his UFC debut in 2015. In his last five fights, he scored wins against Dan Hooker, Calvin Kattar, and Giga Chikadze. Meanwhile, his losses were courtesy of Max Holloway and Movsar Evloev.

Jean Silva’s Recent Fight Results

Silva’s route to the UFC was through Dana White’s Contender Series. He went undefeated in his first five fights in the UFC, scoring wins over Westin Wilson, Charles Jourdain, Drew Dober, Melsik Baghdasaryan, and Bryce Mitchell. However, in his most recent fight, he lost to Diego Lopes via TKO in September.
