I predict a submission victory for Nurmagomedov against Figueiredo because he’s the far superior grappler, thanks to his solid sambo background. Additionally, Nurmagomedov’s striking has been constantly improving.
The Russian MMA star can use his striking to set up his takedowns and eventually maneuver his way into a submission. Nurmagomedov is also a much bigger athlete than Figueiredo in terms of size, and I think he’ll just overpower him during grappling exchanges.
I think Figueiredo has acclimated himself in the bantamweight division, but the size difference between him and Nurmagomedov is just massive, and that’s why I think oddsmakers placed a huge discrepancy in their odds.
