The heavyweight showdown between ranked heavyweight contenders Tai Tuivasa and Tallison Teixeira will be part of the UFC 325 card on Jan. 31,  at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

With a five-fight losing streak, Tuivasa heads into the match as the betting underdog with +240 UFC odds, while Texeira, who’s also coming off a loss in his previous match, will be the betting favorite with -300 odds.

UFC 325: Tai Tuivasa vs. Tallison Teixeira: Prediction

A TKO/KO finish for Teixeira against Tuivasa is my prediction for this heavyweight fight, since the former will have the massive height advantage, reach, and leg reach, which are all important in striking exchanges.

With Tuivasa’s current form, I don’t see him surviving a full three rounds with a heavy-hitting heavyweight prospect who’s much bigger and taller. I know Tuivasa also has incredible power in his punches, but he needs to cover a lot more distance for him to land them.

If Tuivasa decides to be the aggressor in this bout, he might get countered with a vicious punch from Teixeira, but if he plays the role of a counterpuncher, the Brazilian contender would piece him up with punches and kicks from the outside.

Tai Tuivasa’s Recent Fight Results

Tuivasa is a seasoned UFC heavyweight contender who has been with the promotion since 2017. But he hasn’t won a match since February 2022 and has lost all his last five fights to Ciryl Gane, Serghei Pavlovich, Alexander Volkov, Marcin Tybura, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Tallison Teixeira’s Recent Fight Results

Teixeira is a standout from Dana White’s Contender Series, where he knocked out Arthur Lopes to secure a UFC contract in September 2024. Since then, he has split his first two bouts inside the octagon with a win over Justin Tafa and a loss to Derrick Lewis.
