UFC 325: Volkanovski vs. Lopes 2: Prediction
I predict another unanimous decision victory for Volkanovski against Lopes in this championship rematch. The challenger hasn’t learned from his past mistakes, particularly being susceptible to counters and combinations, as seen during his most recent match with Jean Silva.
There’s no doubt that Lopes is a very durable fighter with a granite chin, but he doesn’t have the head movement to evade punches and strikes going his way. This is why Volkanovski had so much success in their first meeting with stiff jabs and quick combinations.
If Lopes doesn’t employ a better fight plan to neutralize the movement, speed, and counterpunches of Volkanovski, it’ll just be a repeat of their first fight, where the Australian MMA superstar outclassed and outstriked him throughout five rounds.
