Kelvin Gastelum will welcome long-time welterweight contender Vicente Luque in the middleweight division this Saturday at UFC 327, as they’ll throw hands inside Kaseya Center in Miami.
Because he’s the natural 185-pounder, Gastelum will be the betting favorite with -285 UFC odds, while Luque, who’ll be moving up in weight and currently on a two-fight skid, is going to be the +225 betting underdog.

UFC 327: Kelvin Gastelum vs. Vicente Luque: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO victory for Gastelum over Luque since he has the better striking and possesses the heavier strikes. The weight difference is also a big factor in this match, as this is going to be Luque’s first match in the 185-pound weight class.
Luque may have feel a different power when Gastelum hits him with a clean strike since he’s used to fighting in welterweight. There’ll be no difference in speed because Gastelum is also a relatively quick fighter, who also competed before in the welterweight division.
The only thing Gastelum should be worry about is the left check hook that Luque throws when his opponents lunges forward. Additionally, Gastelum must be wary of the takedowns from Luque, as he’s expected to maximize his Brazilian jiu-jitsu background.
Kelvin Gastelum’s Recent Fight Results
Gastelum was the former UFC interim middleweight title challenger, and in his last five fights, he recorded three wins against Chris Curtis, Daniel Rodriguez, and Dustin Stoltzfus. His losses during this stretch were courtesy of Sean Brady and Joe Pyfer.
Vicente Luque’s Recent Fight Results
Luque is a UFC veteran who has been with the promotion since 2015. However, in his last five bouts, he has only recorded two wins against Rafael Dos Anjos and Themba Gorimbo, and dropped the other three to Joaquin Buckley, Kevin Holland, and Joel Alvarez.
