UFC 331: Michael Aswell Jr. vs. Joosang Yoo: Prediction

A decision win for Joosang over Aswell Jr. is my prediction because he’s the faster fighter. Joosang could frustrate Aswell Jr. by leaning back from punches and kicks while staying ready to counter.

Joosang is a very lethal counterpuncher thanks to his wide fighting stance and hands-low style. This lets him fire counterpunches as opponents lunge in. With Aswell Jr.’s aggressive style, I think Joosang will just piece him up.

Furthermore, I believe Joosang will improve his defense compared to his last bout where he got finished. He mostly learned his lesson about not just leaning back to dodge punches, and will likely integrate other defensive setups, especially against Aswell Jr.’s constant forward pressure.

Michael Aswell Jr.’s Recent Fight Results

Aswell Jr. made his UFC debut in June 2025. But he has only recorded one win in his four bouts under the promotion. He beat Lucas Almeida, while Bolaji Oki, Luke Riley, and Gaston Bolanos defeated him.

Joosang Yoo’s Recent Fight Results

Joosang was an undefeated prospect and a former titleholder in the Asian MMA region before the UFC signed him in June 2025. He made a dream debut against Jeka Saragih with a 28-second stoppage win, but lost his second fight to Daniel Santos via second-round TKO.
