Former UFC and PFL heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is back in action on Saturday, as he’s set to face former fellow UFC fighter Philipe Lins in the co-main event of MVP Promotions’ MMA event inside Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Heading into the match, Ngannou is going to be the heavy betting favorite with -2500 MMA odds due to a better pro record and higher finish rate, while Lins will be the overwhelming betting underdog with +1050 odds.

Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins: Prediction

I predict a TKO/KO win for Ngannou over Lins, since he’s the heavier puncher and is the faster fighter. His 5-inch reach advantage will also play a massive role in their striking exchanges, especially in the opening moments of the fight, where they both gauge each other’s distance.

Ngannou isn’t limited to his one-punch knockout ability, as he’s also a vicious kicker who likes to throw calf kicks and leg kicks against his opponents to inflict massive damage. This damage compromises their movement and power.

If Lins decides to be the aggressive fighter who’ll put Ngannou on his back foot, he should be careful of overextending and lunging in for a punch since “The Predator” is a solid counterpuncher. Either way, Ngannou should land his signature punch to end the match.

Francis Ngannou’s Recent Fight Results

Ngannou was a former UFC and PFL heavyweight titleholder who also competed in professional boxing fights. His last five MMA victories were against Junior Dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozentruik, Stipe Miocic, Cyril Gane, and Renan Ferreira.

Philipe Lins’ Recent Fight Results

Lins was also a former PFL titleholder, who was signed by the UFC in 2020. He won four of his last five octagon fights, with victories over Marcin Prachnio, Ovince Saint Preux, Maxim Grishin, and Ion Cutelaba. His lone loss during this stretch was to Tanner Bosser.
