An all-French lightweight showdown will be the co-main event of UFC Paris on Saturday, as Fares Ziam is set to collide with Axel Sola inside Accor Arena in France.

Fresh off a win in his previous match, Sola enters the match as the betting favorite with -150 UFC odds, while Ziam, who’s coming off a loss, is going to be the +125 betting underdog.

UFC Paris: Fares Ziam vs. Axel Sola: Prediction

A TKO/KO victory for Sola over Ziam is my prediction because he’s the more powerful and accurate striker. Sola’s southpaw fighting stance is also perfect for the orthodox stance of Ziam, as the leg kicks to the body and stiff jabs will be available for him.

Additionally, Sola fires his kicks in a very quick and tricky way that his opponents couldn’t telegraph. His karate-style and bladed stance make this possible because he’s very light on his feet.

Ziam lost his previous fight because his opponent is a southpaw fighter, which gave him problems. Sola can also spam Ziam with head kicks, and even if he blocks them, Ziam’s power hand will be compromised and eventually wouldn’t be able to fire it with enough power.

Fares Ziam’s Recent Fight Results

Ziam made his octagon debut in 2019. In his last five fights under the promotion, he racked up four wins (Claudio Puelles, Matt Frevola, Mike Davis, and Nazim Sadykhov) and one loss (Tom Nolan).

Axel Sola’s Recent Fight Results

Sola was the former Ares FC champion before the UFC signed him last year. He competed in three fights inside the octagon and defeated Rhys McKee and Ismael Bonfim, but absorbed a defeat from Mason Jones.
