The exciting bantamweight match between Colby Thicknesse and Vince Morales will be witnessed on Saturday at UFC Perth, which takes place inside the RAC Arena in Australia.

Following a win in his previous bout, Thicknesse heads into the fight as the betting favorite with -130 UFC odds, while Morales, who’s currently on a three-fight losing streak, is going to be the +105 betting underdog.

UFC Perth: Colby Thicknesse vs. Vince Morales: Prediction

My prediction is a unanimous decision victory for Morales over Thicknesse, mainly because the stylistic matchup favors the former. Morales’ wrestling can propel him to take Thicknesse down and control him down the mat for a significant amount of time.

Thicknesse doesn’t have a one-punch knockout power and avoids engaging in extended exchanges on the feet. He often shells up with a high guard to defend counters from his opponents, which doesn’t help him telegraph the next attack.

This is where Morales can take full advantage: He can push Thicknesse back against the cage and throw a boxing combination. Once he goes on the high guard, he should time a perfect level change to take him down and operate on the mat.

Colby Thicknesse’s Recent Fight Results

Thicknesse was a former Hex Fight Series champion and an undefeated prospect when the UFC signed him last year. He has split his first two bouts inside the octagon with a loss to Aleksandre Topuria and a win over Josias Musasa.

Vince Morales’ Recent Fight Results

Morales returned to the UFC in 2024 after being cut in 2022. However, he has lost all three of his outings under the promotion with losses to Taylor Lapilus, Elijah Smith, and most recently, Raul Rosas Jr.
