Riding a three-fight win streak that is all finishes, Kape heads into the match as the betting favorite with -155 UFC odds, while Horiguchi, who’s on a two-fight win streak since his return to the octagon, will be the +125 betting underdog.

UFC Vegas 119: Kape vs. Horiguchi 2: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Horiguchi over Kape, mainly due to his speed advantage. Horiguchi has a very awkward, wide stance, which allows him to land his punches and kicks effectively without telegraphing them to his opponents.

I know it’s been almost a decade since they first met, but Horiguchi still has the same movement that Kape is struggling to solve. Horiguchi can land more strikes with his quick burst of attack without absorbing any counters.

Even though Kape can take the fight to the ground, Horiguchi has a decent takedown defense will hold up, and he can even threaten with submissions, just like he did during their first bout when he got the submission win over Kape.

Manel Kape’s Recent Fight Results

Kape was a former Rizin champion when he was signed by the UFC in 2017. He won four of his last five bouts, with victories over Felipe dos Santos, Bruno Silva, Asu Almabayev, and Brandon Royval. His only loss during this stretch was to Muhammad Mokaev.

Kyoji Horiguchi’s Recent Fight Results

Horiguchi was a UFC flyweight title challenger in 2015 before competing outside the promotion. He finally returned under the Las Vegas-based promotion in November and has won back-to-back fights against Tagir Ulanbekov and Amir Albazi.
