Bantamweight debutants Mehemmedli Osmanli and Ilimbek Akylbek are scheduled to throw hands at UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday inside the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

With a better pro MMA record, Osmanli is going to be the considerable betting favorite with -300 UFC odds. On the other hand, Akylbek, who already has three losses in his career, will be the +240 betting underdog.

Mehemmedeli Osmanli vs. Ilimbek Akylbek: Prediction

With Osmanli’s power and more variety in his striking arsenal, I predict a TKO/KO win for him over Akylbek. Both are well-rounded fighters who can take the fight on the feet and on the ground, but the power in Osmanli’s hands will be the key difference.

Osmanli likes to throw the one-two punch combination with knockout intentions. He uses his stiff jabs to set this up and throws solid calf kicks. Additionally, he’s a very skilled grappler and can viciously submit opponents.

Meanwhile, Akylbek, even if he has six career submission wins, doesn’t want to engage in a grappling-heavy match and prefers to keep the fight on the feet. Even if this is the case, I believe Osmanli will find the mark and finish Akylbek in under two rounds.

Mehemmedeli Osmanli’s Recent Fight Results

Osmanli has been a standout in the Middle East MMA circuit and is currently on a nine-fight winning streak. His last five victories were against Omar Ashour, Shamil Boraev, Faeez Jacobs, Ali Yousefi, and Bakhtovar Yunusov.

Ilimbek Akylbek’s Recent Fight Results

Akylbek was the former American Fight Promotions champion before he signed with the UFC this year. He racked up three wins (Gadzhimurad Gasanguseinov, Ozodbek Bobokulov, and Mo Miller) and two losses (Khalim Nazruloev and Dzhokhar Eskiev) in his last five fights.
