Alabama hits the road for its second conference away game of the season this season, and the opponent is the most difficult of the year so far.

The fast-rising Mississippi State Bulldogs have matched Alabama’s 2-0 conference start and have an ascending Heisman frontrunner at quarterback in Kamario Taylor.

Alabama has won 16 straight games against MSU, but the Bulldogs have a great chance to pull the upset for the first time since 2007.

BetMGM has NCAA football odds available for all the Week 5 college football action.

Alabama vs. Mississippi State: Preview & Notes

Alabama got off to slow starts in September games against Kentucky and Florida State before pulling away after halftime and coasting to easy covers. The Crimson Tide delivered a more complete performance against South Carolina in Week 4 and likely feel good about where they’re at on the way to Starkville.

But this is clearly Mississippi State’s best team in years, and the Bulldogs will likely be live dogs in this one.

Alabama is 12-4 ATS during its 16-game winning streak against MSU and has covered three straight games in Starkville. However, since 2021, Alabama is 9-14-1 against the number as a road favorite, which makes Taylor and the points quite a dangerous side to go against here.
