Don’t count South Carolina out just yet. After a shockingly dominant road win at Florida, the Gamecocks regrouped during their Week 7 bye week.

They’ll now host Tennessee, fresh off a season-defining win over Alabama. And the point spread in this one looks funky.

BetMGM has NCAA football odds available for all the Week 8 college football action.

South Carolina vs. Tennessee: Preview & Notes

South Carolina was rumored to be considering a coaching change just two weeks ago. Now, the odds market thinks the Gamecocks are a coin flip against a good Tennessee team in Columbia.

One key matchup here will be Tennessee’s ground game, which should gash South Carolina up front. Tennessee ranks fifth nationally in EPA/rush and sixth nationally in offensive success rate when running, which quickly becomes clear when you watch the Vols play.

South Carolina ranks 68th in EPA/rush allowed and will struggle to stop such a good ground game. They’ll need to crowd the box and get stops on third down to have a chance.
