Pittsburgh and Syracuse will play one of the first meaningful weeknight conference games of the year on Thursday. If chalk holds, Pitt can get to 3-0, with an FCS game on the docket next week.

Syracuse is still looking for its first FBS win of the year and would love to score a big road conference win.

BetMGM has NCAA football odds available for all the Week 3 college football action.

Syracuse vs. Pitt: Prediction & Preview

Pitt enters its Week 3 ACC opener after an ugly 12-7 win over UCF that featured bad weather and horrid offense. UCF struggled to throw the ball and averaged 0.9 yards per rush. Pitt only found the end zone once and didn’t score at all after halftime.

The strength of Pitt’s defense may be the only salvageable takeaway from Saturday’s game, but that may be enough for some fans to lay the number with the Panthers at home. If Syracuse’s offense struggled at home against Cal, what might Pitt do?

In my opinion, the best angle on this game is the total. Weeknight unders are historically profitable angles, but my lean goes beyond that. In this old Big East series, specifically, the under is 6-1 over the last seven games, with Pitt and Syracuse combining for 41 points per game.

Prediction: Under 51.5
