The Milwaukee Brewers have a 1-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead of Game 2 of the NLCS. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. ET on Monday at American Family Field in Milwaukee on FOX.

Dodgers vs. Brewers Prediction for Game 2 NLCS

  • Dodgers moneyline

Given the pitching matchup, I expect the Dodgers to even the series by winning tonight’s Game 2.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start for Los Angeles, and he’s built a strong playoff reputation after winning last year’s World Series MVP award. In his lone postseason start this year, Yamamoto spun seven innings of one-run ball with 10 strikeouts against the Atlanta Braves.

Yamamoto finished 14-9 with a 2.53 ERA in 28 regular-season starts. He has a six-pitch repertoire, led by a split-finger that he throws 26.2% of the time and allows a .158 batting average. Yamamoto’s command sets him apart, with a 107 Location+.

The Brewers will counter with Logan Henderson, who went 11-3 with a 2.47 ERA in 18 regular-season starts as a rookie. Henderson has four pitches, including a four-seam fastball that he throws 46.4% of the time. Henderson faced the Dodgers twice in the regular season, allowing one run across 12 innings.

I expect another low-scoring matchup, so the under could be worth a look at seven runs or better. But I’d rather bank on Los Angeles to come through in the end, especially after Milwaukee used its best relievers in Sunday’s 2-1 win.

The Brewers got the final 14 hours from DL Hall, Abner Uribe, Aaron Ashby, and Trevor Megill. The Dodgers needed just three innings from their relievers, including one inning from Tanner Scott. Edwin Díaz didn’t pitch in Game 1.
