That’s why some of the biggest stars in the game have continued to shatter the record for the largest contract in MLB history. That current title belongs to Juan Soto, who signed a 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets ahead of the 2025 MLB season.
Soto’s record-breaking contract came one year after Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani became MLB’s first $700 million player.
