Mariners vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Game 6 ALCS Preview

  • Get MLB picks and analysis for Mariners vs. Blue Jays.
  • Toronto is -125 to win Sundayโ€™s Game 6.

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to keep their season alive when they host the Seattle Mariners at 8:03 p.m. ET on Sunday at the Rogers Centre on FS1.

The Mariners, who won the first two games of the series in Toronto, earned a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays in Fridayโ€™s pivotal Game 5. Eugenio Suรกrez launched a go-ahead grand slam, putting Seattle one win away from its first World Series appearance in franchise history.

Toronto is favored to stave off elimination and force a Game 7 on Monday.

Rookie Trey Yesavage will get the nod for the Blue Jays, while Logan Gilbert is set to take the mound for the Mariners.

Mariners vs. Blue Jays Prediction for Game 6

  • Trey Yesavage over 4.5 strikeouts

My favorite Mariners vs. Blue Jays prediction likes the over on Trey Yesavageโ€™s strikeouts prop (4.5) in Game 6 of the ALCS on Sunday at the Rogers Centre.

Yesavage didnโ€™t clear this prop in Game 2 of the ALCS, finishing with four whiffs in as many frames. He allowed five runs on four hits, while walking three batters and hitting one as well. He faced 20 batters in a loss.

I believe in a bounce-back effort in Yesavageโ€™s second matchup against this lineup. The Mariners typically struggle with chasing, ranking seventh in the majors with a 23.5% strikeout rate.

When Yesavage is on, heโ€™s one of the more unhittable hurlers in the league. He whiffed 11 batters in his first playoff start on Oct. 5, tossing 5 1/3 innings without allowing a run against the New York Yankees.

During his limited action in the regular season, Yesavage recorded 16 strikeouts across 14 innings in three starts. He cleared this line in two of those three outings in September.

Assuming Yesavage gets to pitch about four or more innings again, I like his chances of clearing this strikeouts prop. Ballpark Palโ€™s model projects 6.38 strikeouts in 5.13 innings.

A same-game parlay between Yesavageโ€™s strikeouts prop and Torontoโ€™s moneyline would be +165 if you believe the Blue Jays live to fight another day on Sunday.

Prediction: Trey Yesavage over 4.5 strikeouts (-145)

Mariners vs. Blue Jays Odds for Game 6
