The Bucks finally turned the page on the Giannis Antetokounmpo era, so their win total is just 26.5. I prefer the under in what should be the first season of a proper rebuild.
All things considered, Milwaukee actually did well in its return for Antetokounmpo. Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Kel’el Ware could all start for the new-look Bucks.
Herro, who was actually born in Milwaukee, is now clearly the Bucks’ best player. He’s two years removed from his lone All-Star campaign and has averaged 19.5 points and 4.1 assists per game in his seven NBA seasons.
Jaquez has continued to ascend in his three seasons, finishing runner-up in the 2026 Sixth Man of the Year race. He averaged 15.4 points, five rebounds, and 4.7 assists per contest.
Ware is entering his third season and might not have to do much to earn the starting center job after Myles Turner’s play last year. Ware is among the betting favorites in the current Most Improved Player odds at BetMGM.
While all three players could make the most of their expanded roles in Milwaukee, I’m not as convinced by the depth around them. The Bucks will be counting on Brayden Burries and Nate Ament to produce as rookies.
Given how early the Bucks are in a long rebuild, they could even entertain offers for some of their key players. Milwaukee might be the worst team in the Eastern Conference this year.
