Sam Howell, the Washington Commanders’ quarterback, played college football at North Carolina. His college career ran from 2019-21 before he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Howell was a prolific quarterback for the Tar Heels under head coach Mack Brown, ultimately starting 37 games across three seasons. 

Howell set or matched 27 school records, including career passing yards (10,283), career offense (11,292), and total touchdowns responsible for (111). He also ranks highly in a number of ACC categories.
