With his win in 2026, Rory McIlroy joined a small group of golfers that claimed back-to-back Masters titles.
McIlroy claimed his first green jacket in 2025 to complete the career grand slam. He followed it up with a 2026 win for his sixth major championship. McIlroy also becomes the 19th player with multiple Masters victories.
Previously, Tiger Woods last achieved the feat with his wins in 2001 and 2002. It marked the third time in history a player won back-to-back Masters titles.Â
Woods ended a long drought of back-to-back Masters winners. Before Woods, Nick Faldo claimed back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990.Â
The first to accomplish the feat was Jack Nicklaus, who earned back-to-back green jackets in 1965 and 1966.Â
