  • The total purse for the 2023 BMW Championship was $20 million.
  • The BMW Championship was the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

What a week for the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

The FedEx Cup Playoff format had the top 50 players qualifying and then the top 30 after the event, making the Tour Championship.

Viktor Hovland bested them all as he caught fire in the final round, shooting a course-record 61 to finish at 17-under par and win by two shots. The 61 included a back-9 score of 28.

Given the circumstances, it may have been the round of the year on the PGA Tour.

The event had a $20 million purse.
