One-and-Done Golf Picks for the Rocket Classic

Below, I’ve outlined three players worth a look for OAD pools this week at the Rocket Classic.

For those unfamiliar, OAD pools closely mirror an NFL survivor contest. Players select a golfer each week and earn their prize money at the conclusion of the event.

The catch? Contestants can only use a player once. Additionally, not all prize pools are created equally, which further adds to the game theory.

Golf odds are reflective at the time of writing and are subject to movement.

3 Best Rocket Classic One-and-Done Picks

Cameron Young (+1200)

If you’ve made it this far without using Young, he offers a strong winner profile.

Young absolved nearly two months of poor performances with a runner-up at the Open Championship. He gained +2.4 SG: Ball Striking, his second-best output in 2026.

Earlier this year, the Wake Forest product showed he can build off strong performances. He gained +2.3 SG: BS at Bay Hill before winning at TPC Sawgrass, where he notched +2.5.

The following event, Young spiked to +2.2 SG: BS at Augusta, finishing T-3rd.

Perhaps the Open performance offers a sign of things to come. Add in a previous win late last year at a Donald Ross design, and I like his floor in Detroit.

Jake Knapp (+2800)

Knapp used a Sunday 62 to finish T-13th at the 3M Open. At TPC Twin Cities, he gained at least two SG: BS in three of his four rounds.

Despite MC’s at both the Scottish Open and Open Championship, Knapp posted good ball-striking data. Over his last eight rounds, he ranks fifth in SG: BS.

Putting has held him back recently. Amongst the Rocket Classic participants, he ranks 106th in SG: Putting over those eight rounds, losing strokes seven times.

However, ball-striking usually stays more consistent than putting over a larger sample size. Plus, there was a point earlier this year when Knapp dominated all courses with his flat stick.

Even if his ball-striking takes a step back – +2.6 at the 3M marked his second-best output ever – improvement with the putter could lead to a superior performance compared to last week.

J.J. Spaun (+3500)

Course history takes on lessened importance this week following course changes. Still, it’s encouraging to see a pair of top-10s in Spaun’s last three visits to Detroit.

The 2025 U.S. Open winner struggled across the pond, failing to crack the top-30 in two starts. But before those events, he reeled off three top-12s in four prior events.

Only five players outpace Spaun in SG: TOT over the last three months. Only one player (Ben Kohles) outpaces him in SG: APP over the same timeframe.

Since March, Spaun lost strokes on approach once in 15 events. It places him first in SG: APP over that timespan, along with second in SG: BS.

Essentially, Spaun needs the putter to pick up to have a chance at a second win. In potentially good news, he lost strokes putting only once in six visits to Detroit GC.

At minimum, the ball-striking record should provide a high floor at a familiar design.
