One of the best weeks of the year in golf betting and golf in general is here.

The PGA Championship will be May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club just outside of Philadelphia.

Scottie Scheffler, who is the defending champion, enters with the best odds to win this week at +450. Rory McIlroy is next at +850.

Scheffler is the defending champion, while McIlroy won the Masters a month ago.

Aronimink hasn’t hosted a PGA Tour event since the 2018 BMW Championship, but it will play much differently, as it was a wet and rainy week. The rough is also much higher.

The course is known for its tricky greens with lots of slope.

PGA Championship Prediction

Scottie Scheffler is expected to win the PGA Championship with an 18.18% implied probability, according to betting markets. Rory McIlroy is next at 10.53%.

Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.

PGA Championship Best Bets

Scottie Scheffler Outright Winner (+450)

Yes, this is boring, but it feels like it could be a Scottie week.

Scheffler has finished solo second in three straight events, and he comes into the week well rested after not playing the Truist a week ago. He hasn’t won in his last eight starts, which is his longest stretch in almost 15 months. It feels like he’s more than due.

Aronimink should also suit his game as his irons are much improved since early in the season, and he’s gained strokes on the greens in 13 of his last 14 events.

If he can get off to a good start, which he hasn’t done a lot of this season, he will be very tough to beat.

Ludvig Aberg Outright Winner (+2000)

There certainly are questions about whether he has what it takes to close on Sundays during a big event, but he’s too good a player not to eventually overcome his final-round nerves.

After struggling in the early part of the season, Aberg is in the midst of finishing T-8 or better in five of his last six starts, including four top-5 finishes. He also comes into the week off a final round 66 at Quail Hollow on Sunday.

Aberg is long and straight enough off the tee to have plenty of wedges into the greens, and if he can make enough putts, he should find himself near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon.

Tommy Fleetwood Top-10 Finish (+225)

Fleetwood hasn’t finished inside the top 10 at a major since the 2024 Masters, but that feels due to change.

The 35-year-old hasn’t missed a cut since last year’s U.S. Open, and has five top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a T-5 at the Truist Championship a week ago.

Fleetwood is one of the most steady players in the field, which should serve him well this week.

Patrick Cantlay Top-20 Finish (+160)

Cantlay certainly enters this week flying under the radar. He has four straight finishes of T-12 or better.

There is a slight concern with his recent history at majors, as he missed the cut in the final three majors a year ago. But he finished T-12 at the Masters last month.

He also has lost strokes putting in two of his last three events, but he’s shown the ability over the course of his career to make big putts when he needs to.

He is also one of the best active golfers who has not won a major.

Adam Scott Top-20 Finish (+240)

This week is Scott’s 99th straight start in a major, which is second only to Jack Nicklaus.

The 45-year-old doesn’t just qualify for majors, he plays well at them. He’s finished T-25 or better in four of his last six.

Specific to this year, he enters with four straight top 25s, and nine of his last 11 starts worldwide.

Scott has the all-around game to continue that trend this week.
