The 2023 calendar year on the PGA Tour will get underway Thursday, Jan. 5, with the first round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions from Kapalua, Hawaii.
Only winners on the PGA Tour during the 2022 calendar year and those who qualified for the 2022 Tour Championship were invited.
In all, 40 players qualified, but 39 will tee it up. Rory McIlroy is the only player who qualified who is not playing. It will be the standard four rounds of stroke play, but with a limited field, there will be no cut.
It is also the first elevated event on the PGA Tour, with a purse of $15 million.
