Everton arrives at Saturday’s match as a natural sell-high candidate. The team managed two goals at home against Burnley – the worst defense in the league – but it ran lucky. 

David Moyes’ side scored twice off 1.3 expected goals and 1.2 post-shot xG. Now, Everton goes from facing the league’s worst defense to the league’s best. 

When these sides met last, Everton generated a mere 0.2 expected goals. They also failed to put a shot on target as home underdogs. 

The good news? Everton’s defense showed itself well. 

Arsenal created only 1.2 xG from open play. The team’s only shot on target came via a penalty kick inside 30 minutes.
