Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos returns to action after almost two years off to face Alexander Hernandez in a lightweight contest at UFC 332 on Saturday at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

Because of his extended hiatus, Dos Anjos enters the match as the betting underdog with +230 UFC odds, while Hernandez, who’s coming off a defeat in his previous fight, is going to be the betting favorite with -285 odds.

UFC 332: Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Alexander Hernandez: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Dos Anjos over Hernandez because the stylistic matchup favors him. Dos Anjos likes to pressure opponents before shooting for a takedown, then dominate them on the mat with ground-and-pound and submissions.

This style gives Hernandez problems because he’s often gun-shy about throwing counters and doesn’t have the footwork to alleviate pressure. Hernandez’s main edge against Dos Anjos is activity level.

Even though he’s coming off a two-year layoff and has recently recovered from injuries, Dos Anjos remains an elite fighter even at 41. He’ll surely use every ounce of his experience against Hernandez to eke out a victory.

Rafael Dos Anjos’ Recent Fight Results

Dos Anjos was the former UFC lightweight champion and has also competed in the welterweight division. Before he suffered a severe knee injury, he recorded one win in his last five bouts. He defeated Bryan Barberena, while Rafael Fiziev, Vicente Luque, Mateusz Gamrot, and Geoff Neal defeated him.

Alexander Hernandez’s Recent Fight Results

Hernandez is a UFC veteran who has been with the promotion since 2018. He racked up four wins (Austin Hubbard, Kurt Holobaugh, Chase Hooper, and Diego Ferreira) and one loss (Rafa Garcia) in his last five appearances inside the octagon.
