UFC Vegas 116: Marcus Buchecha vs. Ryan Spann: Prediction

With the speed advantage of Spann, I predict a TKO/KO finish for him over Buchecha. Even though Buchecha has the better grappling and submission arsenal, Spann’s skills on the ground will be enough to hold off the submission attempts of the Brazilian.

The striking department is where Spann will really have the edge over Buchecha, as he has carried the speed and power he’s had from the light heavyweight division and fully weaponized it in the heavier weight class.

I think Spann will catch Buchecha with one of his punch combinations during their striking exchanges, particularly the one-two combo, which he likes to throw in the early stages of the fight.

Marcus Buchecha’s Recent Fight Results

Buchecha was a former ONE Championship contender before the UFC signed him last year. In his first two matches inside the octagon, he lost his fight to Martin Buday and had a draw with Kennedy Nzechukwu.

Ryan Spann’s Recent Fight Results

Spann has been with the UFC since 2018 and was a former light heavyweight fighter. He moved up to the heavyweight division last year and has split his first two matches. He won against Lukasz Brzeski and lost to Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
