UFC Vegas 116: Rodolfo Vieira vs. Eric McConico: Prediction
My prediction is a unanimous decision victory for Vieira over McConico because he’s the better grappler. It’s a classic battle between a striker and a grappler, but I am leaning towards the latter because he can easily neutralize the striking once he secures a takedown.
Although McConico is a decent grappler himself, I think Vieira is more committed to taking his opponents down and beating them on the ground. It’s the same way that McConico is fully committed to fighting on the feet.
If Vieira manages to set up several level changes and secure a takedown, I think he’ll be able to control McConico for a significant amount of time on the ground. From there, ground-and-pound strikes and even submission attempts will be produced.

Vieira has been with the UFC since 2019, but in his last five bouts, he has recorded three wins and two losses. His victories were against Cody Brundage, Armen Petrosyan, and Tresean Gore, while his defeats were at the hands of Andre Petrosyan and Bo Nickal.

McConico made his octagon debut last year and has fought three times. During this stretch, he has only racked up one win against Brundage and lost the other two to Nursulton Ruziboev and Baisangur Susurkaev.
