Alice Ardelean is looking to earn her spot in the UFC women’s strawweight division, as she’s set to collide with Polyana Viana on Saturday at UFC Vegas 117, which goes down inside the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Riding a two-fight win streak, Ardelean heads into the bout as the betting favorite with -200 UFC odds, while Viana, who’s on a three-fight losing streak, will be the betting underdog with +165 odds.

UFC Vegas 117: Alice Ardelean vs. Polyana Viana: Prediction

As the more technical and disciplined striker, I predict a decision win for Ardelean over Viana. Ardelean’s crisp boxing will be key to landing more strikes against Viana, as she has an extended combination.

Viana, though, can mix up his attack with takedowns using her solid jiu-jitsu background, but Ardelean is also a solid grappler who can defend takedowns and submissions. With the threat of takedowns neutralized, I think the match will be a slugfest.

Ardelean’s jabs will be the key weapon in closing the distance with Viana and setting up his combinations. Once she measures the right distance, I think she’ll be able to connect several punches and kicks en route to a convincing victory.

Alice Ardelean’s Recent Fight Results

Ardelean was signed by the UFC in 2024 after her five-fight win streak in different organizations. She has split her first four bouts under the Las Vegas-based promotion with wins over Rayanne dos Santos and Montserrat Conejo Ruiz and losses to Shauna Bannon and Melissa Martinez.

Polyana Viana’s Recent Fight Results

Viana was a former Jungle Fight champion and was signed by the UFC in 2018. However, in her last five bouts, she has only recorded one win over Jinh Yu Frey and lost all four to Tabatha Ricci, Iasmin Lucindo, Gillian Robertson, and Jaqueline Amorim.
