There will be no Saturday this college football season bigger than Week 10.
After two months of conference games and playoff posturing, the stars have aligned this weekend to deliver tons of huge games with postseason implications.
Here are thoughts and college football odds for all 16 games featuring a ranked team in Week 10:
No. 22 Arizona vs. TCU
Sonny Dykes could be in danger of being the latest college football coach fired this year if this Friday night game gets out of hand.
No. 15 Texas Tech vs. West Virginia
West Virginia is a deeply flawed team, but if you think laying 17.5 against the WVU offense is a good idea, I don’t know what to tell you. If this game is a pure West Texas shootout, West Virginia might win outright!
No. 3 Utah vs. No. 9 BYU
In this rivalry game with major Big 12 title implications, Utah appears to have the upper hand with an efficient rushing attack.
No. 18 Missouri vs. No. 7 Texas
We’re still doing this with Texas, huh? Laying points on the road with Arch Manning against a Top 25 team?
Minnesota vs. No. 8 UCLA
One week after nearly beating Indiana, can PJ Fleck’s gang beat one of the last undefeated college football teams?
No. 21 South Carolina vs. Texas A&M
South Carolina fans wanted to fire their coach about a month ago. This week, the Gamecocks are in the College Football Playoff Top 25 and laying a full touchdown against Texas A&M.
No. 14 LSU vs. No. 5 Alabama
LSU has looked like a playoff team since the loss at Kentucky, but Alabama will be the biggest test of that newfound form.
No. 12 Ohio State vs. No. 23 Oregon
There’s plenty of evidence after last week that Ohio State has existential problems on offense now, but the Buckeyes are still laying north of a touchdown against Oregon.
No. 16 Wake Forest vs. Merrimack
The Deacs can name their score here. With ACC teams facing perception problems, I’ll guess that Wake doesn’t slow the offense down until they’ve cracked 55 points.
No. 17 Houston vs. Cincinnati
The Bearcats draw a third straight Top 25 team. Can they score another big upset?
Colorado State vs. No. 25 Boise State
It’s hard to see Boise tripping up on its playoff path against a team with a defense this bad.
No. 13 Tennessee vs. No. 6 Kentucky
Tennessee is nearly a full touchdown favorite against the SEC’s first-place team. But since the market has been loath to buy into Kentucky all season, there could be some value on the Wildcats here.
No. 11 Notre Dame vs. No. 1 Miami
The history of No. 1 teams playing as underdogs is almost nonexistent! I have no clue what the right move is here, but I suppose I lean toward Notre Dame, since the Irish are simply more desperate.
No. 10 Ole Miss vs. No. 2 Georgia
Ole Miss is a short home dog, but the Rebels will have a real chance to drag Georgia down into the ranks of the two-loss SEC teams.
Northwestern vs. No. 19 Iowa
There has been a nonstop carousel this season of unranked, second-tier Big Ten teams beating ranked, second-tier Big Ten teams. The ranked loser drops out, the unranked winner pops into the bottom of the Top 25, and then the process repeats again the next week.
This Saturday night, it’ll be unranked Northwestern – fresh off a loss to Oregon – playing as a favorite against No. 19 Iowa. And, yes, the Hawkeyes just smoked ranked Wisconsin as an unranked team last weekend!
No. 24 Florida vs. Oklahoma
With Oklahoma’s offensive struggles this year, I’m honestly a little shocked that the Gators are available to bet for under a touchdown.
