College GameDay has now been to BYU twice.

That total includes this week’s showdown against No. 2 Notre Dame, which prompted ESPN to make a rare trip to a Big 12 campus.

It’s been a while since BYU last appeared on the College GameDay schedule.

When Was the Last Time College GameDay Went to Provo?

Before 2026, College GameDay’s only trip to Provo was in 2009. BYU hosted future conference mate TCU on Oct. 24.

At the time, this was a major game between non-power programs. This was before major college football conference realignment, so GameDay highlighted a big game between two up-and-coming powers.

TCU won, 38-7. Less than two years later, TCU announced it was joining the Big 12.

The Big 12 and BYU football odds have come a long way since then.
