BYU has won 28 games since the start of the 2024 season, but the Cougars are still being treated like a mild curiosity on the national stage.

Saturday’s game against Notre Dame will be a major showdown with College Football Playoff implications. But even if BYU loses, this year’s team still has the prowess to compete for a conference championship and make the College Football Playoff.

BYU College Football Playoff Odds

At BetMGM, BYU is currently +200 to make the 2026 College Football Playoff.

BYU College Football Playoff Prediction

I am predicting BYU will make the 2026 College Football Playoff.

BYU is good at the line of scrimmage and will likely play three opponents ranked in the top 15 between mid-October and conference championship week. A lofty record could have the Cougars in the playoff even if BYU fails to win some of its marquee games.
