The NBAโ€™s upcoming offseason could become much more interesting if Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready to move on.

Although Antetokounmpo has two more years left on his contract, he could demand to be traded if he hopes to contend for a championship. The Bucksโ€™ contention window has closed after getting bounced in the first round for the third straight season. They also donโ€™t control any of their first-round draft picks until 2031.

If Antetokounmpo is on the move, something he’s reportedly more open to, several teams will be ready to make the Bucks an offer for the two-time MVP.

So, where could Antetokounmpo end up? A new NBA odds market at the BetMGM online sportsbook (only available in Ontario) helps answer that question.

This NBA betting market was posted on May 12. Bet will be voided if Antetokounmpo plays his first regular-season game in 2025-26 for the Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Next Team Prediction

While every team would love to have Antetokounmpo in their uniform, he likely wants to play for a contender. The Bucks would also have to get something out of the deal, meaning theyโ€™d prefer to work with a team with a combination of young assets and draft picks.

As a result, Iโ€™d consider these five teams as the favorites to trade for Antetokounmpo:

  • Oklahoma City Thunder
  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Houston Rockets
  • Orlando Magic
  • Brooklyn Nets

If the Thunder or Spurs are legitimately interested, itโ€™s difficult to imagine another team beating their offer.

Oklahoma City could offer Chet Holmgren or Jalen Williams and an endless number of picks to pair Antetokounmpo with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. With two of the top three players in the league, the Thunder would be championship favorites for the next few seasons.

The Spurs could accelerate their championship timeline for Victor Wembanyama by sending Stephon Castle and picks to Milwaukee. This would create a team with incredible length between Antetokounmpo (6-foot-11) and Wembanyama (7-foot-3). Good luck scoring against that.

Speaking of defense, the Rockets and Magic make a lot of sense as destinations for Antetokounmpo. Both teams can get plenty of stops, but could use a superstar on the offensive end to help push them over the edge.

Houston has several promising young players (Alperen ลžengรผn, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr.) who could be traded for Antetokounmpo. Orlando could build an offer as enticing as Houston’s potential deal if Paolo Banchero or Franz Wagner were available.

There has also been plenty of buzz about the Netsโ€™ interest in bringing in Antetokounmpo for multiple seasons. They certainly have enough draft capital and cap space, but Iโ€™m skeptical that Antetokounmpo would be interested in heading to Brooklyn without a No. 2 star.

Of all these teams, I canโ€™t help but shake the feeling that the Thunder are the favorites if they come short of an NBA championship. They have been patient with their assets, but this move could establish them as championship favorites and a potential dynasty for the next several seasons.

If Oklahoma City wins the NBA Finals, itโ€™s difficult to imagine this team making such a bold move or Antetokounmpo wanting to go there. The Rockets might be the most logical landing spot at this point.

Either way, this summer could alter the landscape of the NBA.
