Likely for the fourth straight year, veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins could join a new team.
Hopkins played the 2025 season in Baltimore on a one-year deal. It followed stints with the Chiefs and Titans after long-term spells with Houston and Arizona.
At age 34, Hopkins likely offers teams a WR3 option. Heāll command a comparatively small average annual value for teams needing depth at the position.
Still, Hopkins hasnāt amassed over 500 receiving yards since the 2024 season. His last 1,000-yard season came in 2023.
DeAndre Hopkins Contract: Predicting Hopkinsā Free Agency Deal
Presumably, the 34-year-old Hopkins signs a one-year deal. For how much money teams offer Hopkins poses the bigger question.
Only one receiver aged 33 or higher has signed a contract so far during free agency. Itās safe to assume Hopkins wonāt command the same $14.1 million average value Mike Evans received.
My best guess is that Hopkins receives an offer similar to Kalif Raymondās in Chicago. Raymond, aged 32, signed a one-year deal for $2 million with a $3.47 million cap hit.
Both Raymond and Hopkins participated in 33% of snaps last year. Hopkins likely offers the higher ceiling, so Iād predict a one-year deal for $2.5 million guaranteed.
DeAndre Hopkins Next Team Predictions
A return to Baltimore remains possible for Hopkins. The Ravens possess just over $27 million in cap space and could benefit from a slot receiver like Hopkins.
Baltimore also could hand more playing time to Devontez Walker, their 2024 fourth-round pick. However, Walker received only eight targets in 12 games last season.
Another potential destination for Hopkins is the New York Jets. With Aaron Glennās team, Hopkins would likely serve as a depth piece.
The team drafted Omar Cooper Jr. at the 2026 NFL Draft to join Garrett Wilson and A.D. Mitchell. However, the team lacks quality receivers behind the trio.
Lastly, keep an eye on the Indianapolis Colts. The team just signed Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, but signing Hopkins offers the chance to keep Josh Downs in the slot.
With only five receivers rostered, Indy may consider adding another cheap receiver for depth.
