A year removed from arriving in Washington, Deebo Samuel hits free agency in 2026.

Samuel improved in 2025 despite Jayden Daniels missing time. He recorded 21 more receptions, 57 more yards and two additional touchdowns than his last year with the 49ers.

Rushing success saw a decline, but Washington handed Samuel 25 fewer carries compared to 2024. His yards per attempt and touchdowns remained on par or better with the prior season.

Deebo Samuel Contract: Predicting Samuel’s Free Agency Deal

It’s unlikely Samuel will command a contract on par with his recent annual value. Prior to entering this free agency period, Samuel had an APY of $23.85.

Samuel’s best seasons are getting further away. By PFF grading, Samuel produced his worst season last year with Washington. Only once in the last four years has he cleared an 80 grade.

Still, Samuel’s reliability could appeal to teams. In the last three seasons, Samuel missed only five games.

That durability should quell concerns for teams. Expect something similar to Stefon Diggs’ Patriots contract last season, around a $21 million APY.

In terms of length, a three-year contract would be my prediction.

Deebo Samuel Next Team Predictions

A return to the Commanders makes the most sense for Samuel. Washington remains in need of receiver help for Daniels and has ample cap space to spend.

However, the Commanders only gave up a fifth-round pick for Samuel. That transaction could decrease the sense of urgency to re-sign Samuel.

If Samuel’s APY holds around $20 million, the list of wide receiver-needy teams with spending power shortens.

Las Vegas, Arizona, New England or Carolina could try for Samuel. As of March 12, all project to have at least $29 million in space.
