NFL Coach of the Year Prediction
Kellen Moore (+1100)
New Orleans earned significant market respect for its team futures. It further drives my belief in a team that played sneakily well down the stretch.
The Saints’ season win total opened at 7.5 wins, juiced -105 to the over. Currently, New Orleans sits at -125 to win at least eight games.
Respect followed in the NFC South odds. New Orleans opened at +330 to win the division and currently sits at +260.
I agree with the market moves. New Orleans projects to play the league’s second-easiest strength of schedule next year, including the easiest within the NFC South.
It should bolster Moore’s candidacy for the award similarly to Liam Coen, whose Jaguars also projected to face a very easy schedule last season.
Driving my belief in New Orleans? A presumably good defense that replicates its metrics towards the end of 2025.
From Week 10 onward, New Orleans ranked second in defensive EPA per play, up from 21st in Weeks 1-9.
Moore also will coordinate a better offense featuring Tyler Shough, Chris Olave and 2026 first-round pick Jordyn Tyson.
If everything comes together, New Orleans could easily improve from six to 10 wins and a division title. That would likely earn Moore consideration for this award in his second year.
