Only four active NFL teams have never appeared in a Super Bowl: Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans.

Two of those teams – the Browns and Lions – appeared in (and won) the NFL Championship – before the AFL and NFL merged for the 1966 season.

The Browns, Lions, and Jaguars, and Texans, are among 12 NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl. And the Lions rank second behind only the Arizona Cardinals for the longest active NFL championship drought.

Only the Jaguars made the playoffs last season. But with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round, they are still among teams without a Super Bowl appearance.
