Patrick Mahomes made history in 2020 when he signed a 10-year, $450 million contract. At the time, it was the biggest contract by total value in NFL history, though ensuing deals eventually reset the market.

Then, on Sept. 18, 2023, Mahomes and the Chiefs agreed to a restructured contract that once again made history.

Mahomes’ new deal includes more than $200 million in guarantees.

Patrick Mahomes was previously under contract with Kansas City through 2031. However, the new, restructured deal effectively ends Mahomes’ current status with the Chiefs after 2026, as both parties agree to revisit the contract.

Patrick Mahomes Guaranteed Money

Patrick Mahomes’ new contract with the Chiefs reportedly guarantees him $210.6M through the 2026 season. That’s a new NFL record for cash earnings in a four-year window.
