Jaguars vs Ravens Prediction

Based on Baltimore’s injury-ravaged quarterback room and poor defensive record, my Ravens vs Jaguars prediction is the Jaguars Spread (-9, -110).

I continue to try to find a spot to sell the Jaguars. It looks like it will have to wait another week.

Overall confidence in this prediction is relatively low. Incredibly, the Jaguars beat the Colts 42-7 off their bye despite accumulating fewer trips inside the red zone.

Yards per play still finished 7.0-4.0 in Jacksonville’s favor, so calling it a fluky win would be unfair.

However, the margin almost certainly flattered Jacksonville. A 92-yard pick-six and two touchdowns off drives under 50.5 yards (presumably) are not sustainable long term.

I’ll continue to point out that the Jaguars qualify as a massive defensive regression candidate. Turnovers, especially in the red zone, make this defense look better than its true quality.

A -3 red zone margin and +7 turnover differential encapsulate how this team achieves its success.

However, I’m not about to express optimism that Joe Fagnano and Derrick Henry are going to produce that negative regression for Jacksonville.

Baltimore finished with only 2.9 yards per play in Buffalo against an anemic defense, albeit against a unit off a bye.

With a full week to prepare, you could maybe make a case for the Ravens to cover. However, I remain skeptical of the defense and carry minimal faith in the offense.

Due to those factors, it’s the Jaguars or a pass on TNF.
