The biggest game of the week is in South Bend, and there are major College Football Playoff implications on the line. Notre Dame hosts No. 1 Miami in the second and final game the Irish will play against a ranked opponent this year.
A win for the Hurricanes could knock Notre Dame out of the playoff picture entirely, while a loss would continue college football’s top-2 wheel of carnage and throw a late-season wrench into BetMGM’s Heisman Trophy odds market.
Naturally, South Bend will be the host site for this week’s College GameDay predictions, and everyone will be centering their viewing schedules around this game.
BetMGM has NCAA football odds available for all the Week 10 college football action.
Miami vs. Notre Dame Odds
- Point Spread: Notre Dame -5
- Moneyline: Notre Dame -210 | Miami +175
- Total: 48.5
No. 1 Miami was +3.5 on the lookahead and opened today as a 4.5-point dog to Notre Dame, depending on book.
It’s currently Miami +5 at @BetMGM.
Here is pretty much the entire modern history of No. 1 teams playing as underdogs:
-Week 1, 2025: Texas +2.5 at Ohio State (lost 14-7)
-2015 Orange Bowl/CFP Semifinal: Clemson +3.5 vs Oklahoma (won 37-17)
-2008 SEC Championship: No. 1 Alabama +7 vs. Tim Tebow’s Florida team (lost 31-20)
-2001 BCS Nattie: No. 1 Oklahoma +10.5 vs. Florida State (won 13-2)

Miami vs. Notre Dame: Preview & Notes
There’s not much modern precedent for a No. 1 team playing as an underdog. It’s only happened once during the regular season, and that was last year – No. 1 Texas’ season-opening game at Ohio State.
The fact that the market is willing to give the No. 1 Hurricanes more than three points – or really, any points at all – could be a major warning sign ahead of Saturday’s showdown.
My early expectation is that the sharps will be laying the points with Notre Dame.
