- Brighton is predicted to be a 0.5-goal home favorite against Man United.
- Manchester United has scored at least one goal in 24 of its last 25 EPL matches.
- My Brighton vs Man United prediction is Man United 2H Over 0.5 (-145).
Brighton will end their campaign with European ambitions at home against Manchester United.
Motivation for Sunday’s match rests solely with Brighton. Fabian Huerzler’s side sits seventh in the league and remains alive for a Champions League spot, depending on other results.
Man United sits firmly in third place. Michael Carrick, who signed on permanently as United manager last week, leads a side that has already guaranteed UCL qualification.

Man United vs Brighton Prediction
Based on Man United’s strong attacking record and their desire to earn Bruno Fernandes the assists record, my Brighton vs Man United prediction is Man United 2H Over 0.5 (-145).
I’m tempted by the price for United 1H Over 0.5 at +110. However, they’ve cleared that line only eight times in 16 matches under Carrick.
Conversely, they’ve succeeded 12 times in the second half. Across the entire campaign, United scored a first-half goal 21 times in 37 matches vs. 24 second-half successes.
Either way, I expect the attack to find at least one tally against a Brighton defense that struggled at Old Trafford.
United, then managed by Ruben Amorim, scored four at home against the Seagulls. It ran a little lucky vs. expected goals (1.3) but slightly less lucky by post-shot xG (3.04).
Irrespective of manager, United produced better attacking results in the second half. Of their 74.9 expected goals this year, the Red Devils amassed 57.1% after halftime, per Understat.
Higher-quality chances arrived in the reverse fixture against Brighton after halftime. United scored twice in the second half off 0.9 xG and 2.3 post-shot xG.
These teams also met in the FA Cup this past January. United found a second-half tally from Benjamin Sesko while registering 0.8 post-shot xG.
The last motivation for United is earning Bruno Fernandes the EPL assists record. Currently, the Portuguese international needs one assist to break the record.
Fernandes admitted after last week’s Nottingham Forest game that he’s trying to earn the record. Those factors lead me to trust United’s attack to continue its second-half dominance.
