Tottenham vs Man City Prediction, Odds & Match Preview

Tottenham goes for the league double over Manchester City as home dogs on Sunday. 

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham finds itself riding a disastrous run of form. Sunday’s hosts closed as a favorite in four straight matches, but took only two points out of 12. 

Man City arrives at this match fresh off a 2-0 win against Wolves. Now, Pep Guardiola’s side will try to end a two-match winless run away from home.

Man City vs Tottenham: Prediction

Based on Tottenham’s injury absentees and poor record as a home underdog, my Tottenham vs Man City prediction is the Man City Moneyline (-155). 

Injuries are piling up for Tottenham at the wrong time. Of the Starting XI that featured at Man City, Frank is missing five, possibly six, players from the match. 

A lot are concentrated on attack. Both Richarlison and Mohamed Kudus will miss Sunday’s game. That could inhibit Tottenham’s ability to exploit a weakened City defense. 

While it’s difficult to trust this version of City away from home, they simultaneously face a reeling Tottenham defense. 

West Ham came to Tottenham and created 2.6 expected goals. Burnley reached 1.55 against Tottenham at Turf Moor. 

Neither of those attacks holds a candle to Manchester City. City ranks third in expected goals while West Ham and Burnley sit 13th and 19th, respectively. 

City’s failures this season have come when the attack fails to show up. 

When the attack scores at least two goals: 13-0-0. Otherwise: 1-4-5. Additionally, City has earned all three points 14 times in 18 matches when taking a lead. 

If there’s a slight concern with City, it’s the scheduling spot. 

City faces a crucial Champions League spot on Wednesday, while Spurs face an easier trip to Frankfurt. 

However, my opinion is that Tottenham’s injuries are too much to overcome, especially on short rest. As a result, it’s City or nothing for me on Sunday.
