Both teams to score is one of the most popular prop bets within World Cup odds.

The prop asks soccer bettors to answer a simple question: Will both teams score a goal? “Yes” is often a favorite when the moneyline is tight, whereas “no” is favored in more lopsided fixtures.

The former cashes if both teams score a goal. Both Teams to Score – “No” cashes if at least one team fails to score a goal OR neither team scores a goal.

Most bettors prefer betting the “yes” side of BTTS. However, World Cup fixtures historically trend toward BTTS – “No.”

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, only 31 of 64 matches saw both teams score a goal. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, BTTS – “Yes” cashed in only 32 of 64 matches.

Thirty-four matches saw BTTS – “Yes” hit at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, up from only 28 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Compared to the 2006 and 2002 World Cups, BTTS has seen an uptick in percentage. The former saw BTTS – “Yes” hit in only 23 matches, while the prop cashed 30 times in ‘02.
