This game is a rematch of last year’s game at Tulane, where the Green Wave scored a key 34-27 win against Duke. The result has major playoff implications – Duke was left out as a five-loss ACC champion, and Tulane scored the No. 11 seed after winning the American.
The single biggest departure either team suffered after last season was probably Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall leaving to take the job at Florida. New head coach Will Hall is seen as a major downgrade.
Tulane has been a strong G6 contender in recent years but may need to prove it’s still good under Hall’s leadership.
