Below, bettors can find my two best anytime TD scorer predictions based on NFL odds.

Sunday’s slate features the usual suspects owning lofty anytime touchdown prices. Odds price Jahmyr Gibbs, Chase Brown, Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry at -160 or higher to score.

However, I’m looking at one wide receiver and one tight end for the Sunday action. Let’s dive into the predictions.

2 Best Anytime TD Scorer Predictions for Week 1

Chris Olave (+145) vs Detroit Lions

Jordyn Tyson is out for the game. More importantly, Detroit will operate without Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch.

The two safeties will miss at least the first four games. Corner D.J. Reed is also questionable to play on Sunday.

It leaves defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard starting (potentially) Reed, Keith Abney, Avante Maddox and Chuck Clark in the secondary. Without Reed, it’s Rock Ya-Sin.

None of that inspires confidence against Olave, who will likely dominate New Orleans’ target share. Last year, he scored three touchdowns with Spencer Rattler vs. six with Tyler Shough.

Starting with Week 9, Olave cashed his anytime touchdown prop five times in eight games. This includes three straight to close the year against the Panthers, Jets and Titans.

He also stood out against man coverage last year. Of 29 receivers with at least 27 targets vs. man coverage, Olave ranked 14th in yards per route run.

Detroit ran that coverage at the league’s second-highest rate in 2025. Given those factors, I predict Olave finds the end zone on Sunday.

Trey McBride (+180) vs Los Angeles Chargers

Jesse Minter departed the Chargers defense to coach the Ravens. Chris O’Leary arrives to take his place, coordinating a defense that outperformed his talent level the last two years.

Jacoby Brissett tossed at least one touchdown pass in every start last season. McBride scored 10 touchdowns with Brissett as his quarterback while leading Arizona in red zone targets.

Even with Marvin Harrison Jr. back in the fold, I remain confident McBride serves as the focal point of Arizona’s red zone strategy.

He’ll take on a Chargers defense that struggled to defend opposing tight ends last season. Los Angeles ranked 25th in DVOA against TE’s while playing a heavy dose of zone coverage.

Only four teams played zone at a higher rate than Los Angeles. Unfortunately for them, McBride led the NFL in yards against zone coverage amongst all tight ends.

His five touchdowns against zone paced the NFL amongst tight ends, too.

Even if the Chargers rack up points on offense, I trust Arizona to find points either early or in garbage time.
