Lou Anarumo begins his first year as the Colts’ defensive coordinator in 2025.
Anarumo makes the switch from Cincinnati, where he spent six years as DC. After ranking sixth in points allowed for 2022, the Bengals dipped to 21st and 25th in his final two years.
Before Cincinnati, Anarumo worked for two other teams: the Dolphins and Giants.
Anarumo spent a year in New York as a defensive backs coach (2018). Prior to the Giants, Anarumo worked the same role in Miami for seven years.
He also spent part of the 2015 season as Miami’s interim DC.
Before Miami in 2012, Anarumo acquired a wealth of college coaching experience.
All told, Anarumo worked for six different schools over 23 years:
- Wagner (1989)
- Syracuse (1990-91)
- Merchant Marine Academy (1992-94)
- Harvard (1995-2000)
- Marshall (2001-03)
- Purdue (2004-11)
From Harvard onward, Anarumo operated almost exclusively as a defensive backs coach. He also served as an assistant head coach with Harvard.
